Josephine is one of the UK's leading exponents of Egyptian Dance, and is a leading international performer and teacher. Her style is known for its authenticity and deep expresion.
Although Josephine has been teaching since 1978, she formed JWAAD in 1990 to run her courses including regular evening classes in London, the Professional Development Course for professional dancers and the JWAAD Teacher Training Diploma Course, which now has trained teachers around the UK, Europe and as far afield as Australia. She runs Fantasia Festival in London and the JWAAD Summer School. She also runs the International Bellydance Congress.
Josephine teaches authentic Egyptian style and many fusion styles from her choreographic experience, including fusions of Middle Eastern with Flamenco, African, Hiphop and Contemporary. Her classes are informative and fun, and sometimes surreal!

Funky Baladi Dance - Open Level
Learn a bold and funky piece of choreography to the song 'Ariftu Albi Lamin' sung by Najwa Karam. This dance shows how authentic baladi style can be used to express a modern song. The moves are strong and powerful and the dance is fun to perform.
14.30-16.30
Egyptian Funk - Open Level
Dance to funky Egyptian pop music using bold, sexy movements. This workshop is hard work and a lot of fun. (Not choreography)
Hafla & Souk
The hafla will take place in the Leisure Centre from 7.00-11.00pm., the doors will open at 6.45. There will be 3 performance sections giving you the opportunity to watch a variety of dance styles There will be a souk selling belly dance accessories and costumes, and a licenced bar (please do not bring along your owndrinks as you will not be permitted by the venue to consume them) and bring along some food to share for this fantastic evening.If paying by paypal £1.00 will be added to each workshop and 50p per hafla ticket to cover paypal fees and postage.
Alan Long will be on hand to video the performances to produce a promotional dvd/keepsake, and to take any photographs you would like in costume. Prints 8" x 6" size can be made immediately for you to take away with you for £10.00 each! Full details available on the evening.
