Workshops with Shafeek Ibrahim & Gwen Booth - Saturday 5th July 2008, Huntingdon Leisure Centre, St Peter’s Road, Huntingdon, Cambs.
 SHAFEEK is an Egyptian Dance Master and the youngest male dance talent to come from Egypt. He is an international performer and teacher who is renowned for his dynamic performance and excellent teaching skills. With over 10 years of professional dance experience appearing in film, television and theatre his repertoire is vast and includes modern and traditional styles of belly dance as well as ballet, contemporary and world dance.  GWEN BOOTH is a member of the Johara Dance Company and an experienced JWAAD Teacher and Foundation Course Tutor based in Oxford. She is a specialist in the use of props including, sword, stick, veils, fans and shamadan. Gwen is available for performances, and for individual and group tuition throughout the country in all styles of Egyptian Bellydance.

Stick dance is a powerful and expressionate dance. Shafeek will teach all the tricks of how to use, play and dance with the stick. You will learn how to entertain your audience and how to make your dance cheeky and feminine in a true Egyptian style.

Modern Cairo Style with Shafeek—In/Ad
Learn the latest and the hottest moves from Cairo. Shafeek will teach a modern approach to the traditional Egyptian style. Spontaneous and lively, in this workshop you will learn how to spice up your dance with true Egyptian flavour. This workshop will include technique and an amazing new choreography. |
Hafla & Souk
The hafla will take place in the Leisure Centre from 7.00-11.00pm. Please bring along some food to share for this fun and friendly evening of belly dancing. There will also be a licensed bar available.
There will be two performance sections and time during the evening for you to put those hip scarves on and try out all those new moves you have just learned!!
If you would like to perform at the Hafla please contact me as soon as possible. Performance spaces will be limited so don't leave it too late!

Book early to avoid disappointment
The workshops will take place At Huntingdon Leisure Centre, St Peter’s Road, Huntingdon. There is ample parking and the venue is within easy reach of the A14 and A1, and the train station is only a short distance. A map will be sent out with your tickets.
